Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the role is to support the Section head of Instrumentation in ensuring the availability and reliability of the plant's instrumentation systems. This includes supervising all aspects of the instrumentation systems such as maintenance, system upgrades, project execution, manpower planning, safety management, and compliance with various regulatory requirements (EMS, IMS, CEMS). The role also focuses on optimizing maintenance costs and implementing safety and 5S protocols.
Main Accountabilities
Maintenance:
- Manage and modify DCS graphics and logic for plant optimization, safety, and process requirements.
- Execute preventive/predictive maintenance and troubleshoot various E&I equipment including field instruments, IO panels, sub-control systems, IMCC, MVD, and VFDs.
- Ensure accurate calibration of weighing equipment to maintain raw material consumption within acceptable ranges.
- Support planning and budgeting for instrumentation maintenance, calibration, HVAC, and control systems (PLC & SCADA).
- Plan and manage shutdown maintenance activities.
- Supervise maintenance parameters like MTBF and MTTR and initiate improvements.
- Ensure data management, software updates, system backups, and regulatory compliance are handled correctly.
General:
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure proper documentation (ISO, statutory, company requirements).
- Update data accurately in SAP.
- Liaise with external agencies for CEMS, CGWA, and weigh bridge information.
- Participate in root cause analysis for breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate capability building and training within the team.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum Degree: B.E./ B. Tech (E&I)
- Minimum Experience: Minimum 7+ years of maintenance experience in cement or similar plants, with at least 1 year in a similar position.
- Area-specific Knowledge:
- Project & Maintenance Experience
- Experience with Automation systems: DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and Simocode
- Experience with NVR and CCTV installation and maintenance
- Communication and Negotiation Skills
- Team Management
- Knowledge of statutory requirements
- Knowledge of SAP tools
